Course Overview

Join MSI-Viking Gage’s calibration experts for a one-day deep dive into how and why commonly used precision gaging equipment is calibrated to relevant standards. Instruments are selected for demonstration in this course based on observed frequency of use and the measurable benefits of ensuring they are maintained to specifications.

NIST-accredited instructor Steve Sandlin draws on over 20 years’ experience calibrating a wide range of metrology equipment, both in-house and on-site. He will explain how to properly handle, read, maintain, and calibrate tools designed to keep you running efficiently and accurately. Attendees are encouraged to come prepared with questions about their specific tools and applications.

This training course may include, but is not limited to, instruction in the proper usage and calibration of the following instruments:

  • Calipers
  • Micrometers
  • Indicators
  • Test Indicators
  • Height Gages
  • Snap Gages
  • LVDTs

NOTE: This workshop encompasses all content from our previously held Basic Hand Tool Calibration course, with the addition of updated presentation materials and more targeted practical instruction. Examples of each tool will be provided for hands-on demonstration and application of concepts. Class size is limited (no more than 20), as we aim to facilitate discussion, personalized instruction, and interaction with the gages.

Registration opens at 8:00am. Light refreshments and lunch will be provided.
